Best & Worst Nursing Homes in CO
The United States Department of Health and Human Services rates Medicare- and Medicaid-certified nursing homes on a Five-Star Quality Rating system. This system is designed to help consumers compare facilities, in order to find the best possible place for their elder loved ones. One star means that the facility rates “much below average,” while 5 stars means that the facility rates “much above average.” Each facility is rated in three areas: Health Inspections, Nursing Home Staffing, and Quality Measures. With five stars possible in each area, the best possible rating is 15 stars.
